The week is here!

Hello readers!

So, it has arrived.

The week of the official Miss Bolton and Bury final 2015, I thought I would share some pictures of my run up to the final first:

http://sheforeverdreamswithin.blogspot.co.uk/p/my-journey-to-miss-bolton-bury-final.html

It's been hectic, mad, crazy but extremely worth everything! It is something that has brought my family to be closer than ever, we've had tears of sadness and stress yet tears of laughter and joy.

I want to say Thank You to a lot of people, hence why I am doing it on my blog!

A big thank you to Mark and the Miss Bolton and Bury team for giving me such an amazing opportunity to be a part of Miss Bolton & Bury. I think I say without a doubt that I couldn't have been able to do any of this without the consideration of you and your team! Already, the consideration gave me a significant amount of new found confidence.

To the Variety Charity, for giving me everything I needed to raise as much money as possible to help those unfortunate children in the North West. You're generosity and helpfulness has been phenomenal, Thank you.

A big thank you to Carol at Dragonflies Boutique for giving me an opportunity to model some gorgeous dresses, and I also purchased a very beautiful dress off her! You also gave me a lot confidence.  And also to Anthony Bradshaw who took some amazing pictures on the day, very good photographer! Also, to Carol and her son, Martin providing me with some amazing jewellery to accompany my gowns!

As well as this, to Kylie at Stardust boutique who found me my party-wear outfit and evening wear to fit my tight little budget!

To the Holiday Inn, Bolton Centre for their help in raising money at the Christmas parties! They isn't a better place to work, it's a huge family.

Thank you to the Hollywood Bowl, Bolton for allowing me to place my Variety collection boxes on Reception and Bar!

Thank you to Pat, who offered me a great opportunity but due to complications I couldn't do!

To Staples and the Children Today shop for helping me with the vital pieces for my Eco-wear!

To Eddy, at my Mum's work helping me with another vital piece of my eco wear!

To my Aunty Jean helping me figure out how to put everything together!

To Natalia, Kim, Andy, Sally, Wes, Chloe, Victoria, Emily and everybody else who are pushing votes to help me gain points in the final!

A huge thank you to my family in Leicester, who are also pushing votes!

A HUGE, MASSIVE, GIGANTIC thank you to Jess Watts! I had a full day of pageant training, in order to boost my confidence. I have found myself practising posing, walking up and down the hall (driving my cats crazy!) Most of my confidence as come from this girl and I can't wait to make her proud! My inspiration!
To Christine at the hair dressers for giving me tips on how to keep my face fresh and clean!

A big thank you also to College, who are helping me raise awareness and money for Variety, and the little something extra!

But I have my extra special thank you to give:

Throughout my life, since a young age I have had 3 very important people in my life. They have suffered when I have suffered, laughed when I laughed by most importantly they have stood by me!

My Grandad: He tells me how it is, when things aren't right, when I look ridiculous. However, he is my best friend and my anchor on stormy seas! He would never be seen at a beauty pageant usually, but he's especially coming to mine and dressing up for it too! He has prepared me for interview, and told me things in his own way that have made me feel special! To make it short, everything I do he is proud of. He believes in me, and that's a value that cannot be replaced! Thank you Grandad.

My Nan: Where can I start? All the alterations she has had to do, my evening wear and interview wear! She stresses at me so much but then when I need her she's there, she bought my one of my favourite gowns for Dragonflies Boutique and also is always on the look out for things I may need and that would be ideal to me! Without my Nan, I would be going out on the catwalk not feeling my best, and going to my interview in something that isn't my favourite day-time wear! I can't express my love and appreciation!
Most importantly my Mum: We have had tears together and very stressed moments, but we are coming out strong! She has been involved in EVERYTHING! She gave me the budget for my gowns, she's been helping me cleanse my face everyday, reminding me about things that need doing or need to be considered! And most importantly she is sticking by my side, she may edit everything I wear and she has an obsession about pockets! So beware fellow contestants, if she's back stage she will have her 'tit tape' and will be making sure you all look perfect - a little warning! But she is my Mum, she has been there every step of the way, and she makes me smile and laugh! She is perfection!

This competition has brought my family and I closer than ever!

I have so much appreciation for everybody, so now for the last time:

Please vote Nicole Lake to be your next Miss Bolton and Bury 2015

It's an Update, a Plee and some Importance too!

Hello my fabulous readers!

If you went on my Facebook this weekend, it is absolutely full of the Galaxy results! My little sister was also competing in Miss Teen Galaxy Scotland and came Third!! Was extremely proud of her!

There's a mix of things I want to put in my post today, from experiences these past few weeks, and because they're pretty random I will make it easier by putting subtitles on the top of my posts!

There's going to be plenty of babble, so I'll start now:

Sportsmanship

From Left to Right: Georgia Potter (Junior Miss Bury), Beth Bower, Lucy Physick (Miss Bolton), Chelsea Edgar (Miss Bury), Kelly Smith, Myself, Christina Cunningham, Sairah Imtiaz, Leah Bradbury and Emily Law!

Last Sunday, Miss Bolton, Bury, Junior Bury, contestants and I met up to enjoy some gorgeous Chinese at our local Chinese Buffet. I hate the stigma that suggests that other contestants are your enemies because in fact, they could become your closest and truest friends!

I met 9 beyond beautiful girls that day, with different hobbies and inspirations! We even discussed our pageant wear, it's not all about competing in our eyes: it's about making it an enjoyable experience.

This brings me to the term 'sportsmanship' - an amazing quality that lives in all the contests and the reigning queens their selves. If you look at our Miss Bolton/Bury pages, we HAVE liked each others - we do talk to each other and we'd never let someone go down the wrong route!

A great example was today, when a fellow contestant liked and shared my photo and even my page and in return I shared her page and invited my friends. Just the little gestures like that go a long way in a pageant, and in life.

However, while I am currently on the topic of Miss Bolton - I'd like to inform you all that Miss Bolton and Miss Bury competitions have now been combined to one competition. The winner will now be crowned Miss Bolton and Bury! This is EQUALLY important to me as most of you now know that I study in Bury and spend 5 days a week there and the rest of my time in Bolton where I live and work! So, I would appreciate if you keep up the amazing support!

The Charity

I realized something last week, vital to my Charity fundraising! When making a power-point for Variety to raise money at College, I began to tear up. When I am older I want to work with children with disabilities and I always have done so when I began searching videos, it made me want to start now!

In my AS Theatre Studies, we did a performance called On My Own Two Feet about a boy called Kevin growing up with Cerebral Palsy. In our piece, we changed his name to Katie and I was one of the students playing her. The character of Kevin/Katie inspired me alone and I couldn't wait to become a part of it but as soon as I was getting in that wheelchair and the physicality, it began to upset me. It's so challenging mentally and physically to have a disability and the worst thing was that when the exam was over, I could simply get up and walk away from the wheelchair: somebody with a disability cannot walk away from it.

That's what I want to be able to teach them to embrace it! Everybody is special in their own way, including them! This is why it is so important to raise money for them, so please if you could donate just 1p, get in touch with me at Nicolejade96@hotmail.co.uk (Even if you simply would like to buy a badge)
